18 ways to Spring clean with lemons

I love to spring clean with lemons!  They’re a great and inexpensive way to  disinfect and naturally clean your entire house and as a bonus your house will smell amazing afterwards. That’s a win, win in my budget book if I say so myself. Today I’m going to share 12 awesome ways to spring clean with lemons and get your house ready for the wonderful weather and weekend get togethers that you’re about to have.

Here are 18 of my favorite ways to spring clean with lemons

Kitchen:

  • Clean counter tops and appliances
  • Clean the garbage disposal 1/4 lemon juice and hot water to remove odor
  • Clean the windows -2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1/2 cup vinegar and water ( I love this solution)
  • Give the kitchen a fresh smell place lemon on center rack, heat oven to 300 degrees, heat for 30 minutes (this also works on the stove top)
  • Clean your cutting board– rub 1/2 lemon across the board to remove smells and germs
  • Freshen the refrigerator –  add a small amount of lemon juice to a cotton ball and place in fridge
  • Clean  your microwave Mix 3 tablespoons. lemon juice with 1 1/2 cups of water in microwave bowl and microwave on high for 5-10 minutes ( you could also use vinegar)

Bathroom:

  • Clean the bathtub
  • Clean Showers
  • Scrub grout– using old toothbrush and lemon juice
  • unclog your drains-mixture of baking soda and lemon juice
  • Clean toilets 1/2 cup of lemon juice, let sit and then clean with brush

Living area/Bedrooms:

  • Polish furniture Mixture of lemon juice and vegetable/olive oil (another one of my favorites)
  • DIY air freshener – Place lemons in bowl of baking soda. This is great for absorbing odors
  • Keep the closets fresh- Take ripe lemons and stick cloves all over the skin and place in closets
  • Before vacuuming add a few drops of lemon juice to the bag. Easy way to make the house smell fresh!

Laundry:

  • Boost your laundry detergent pour 1 cup of lemon juice into washer during wash cycle. Helps remove stains, makes clothes brighter and fresher!
  • Get rid of mildew on clothes Make a paste of salt and lemon juice and rub it on the mildew area

I guarantee your house will look and smell amazing after using some of the solutions listed! I really wished I would’ve started using this natural cleaning product back when my grandmother told me. I probably would’ve saved a lot of time and money by doing so!
